UKDCA Pay Offer - Update
The Offer as it Stands
The UKDCA and its members have offered a 2% rise for 2018/19 backdated to 1st Jan 2019.
In addition there is an as yet unresolved element regarding average holiday pay. This element is subject to further advice from the union’s solicitors.
We now need to get your views on this latest offer. This will happen in two stages. First, we will run a Poll to gauge members and workers views on this offer. You do not need to be a member of Unite yet to take part in this poll.
We will collate the results of this poll and, depending upon the outcome, we will then run a consultative ballot on what members are willing to do in pursuit of a better pay rise.
A message from John Clark, Unite Officer and lead negotiator for Offshore Drillers:
“I have only very recently taken over responsibility for supporting our members who work for the UKDCA companies offshore.
“Having consulted with members, it is clear that the drilling companies are lagging behind on pay compared to those members working under the OCA and COTA agreements.
“To change this situation we need to organise.
“Negotiations are ongoing with the UKDCA. However, we want to take the opportunity, over the next 3 weeks to engage as widely as possible with the drilling workforce offshore.
“I would strongly recommend that every worker employed by a drilling company offshore take the electronic Poll we are running on this offer of 2%. This Poll will help us gauge the mood of the drilling workforce offshore in relation to this offer and assist us to become better organised to win on your issues at work.
“Now is the time to get active and get involved. After all this is about your pay and your future.”
