unite: the trade union for people working under the ukdca agreement
Firstly, we would like to thank all those who filled out the recent Unite In UKDCA Companies survey. We received responses from members in Archerwell, Odfjell, Maersk, Diamond, Ensco, Transocean, Rowan and others.
The survey is now closed. We are currently taking the time to go through the responses in detail. However, an initial review of what you have told us has shown that there are some serious issues affecting a lot of Drillers working on the UKCS. For example:

- Some members also raised issues around existing mobilisation and demobbing arrangements. For example some have told us that your companies are providing no support when you demob later in the day, simply leaving you to find your own accommodation and being unable to claim back the costs as expenses.
- Many of the biggest issues facing many offshore workers, regardless of employer, were also raised. These include: The 3&3 rotation, insecure /unpredictable employment, rates of pay and the potential return of the Super Puma choppers.
What Happens Next?
A Unite Organiser will shortly be in touch with those of you who have said you are willing to help out and/or want to get more involved.
In the meantime, if you would like to get in touch with the Unite Organising Team please get in touch (Contacts Above).

back home safe 2018
Unite is campaigning for the Airbus Superpumas H225 and AS332 L2 to not be reintoduced into commercial operations in the UKCS and to be permanently removed from the service of transporting offshore workers.
We invite all offshore workers, the family and friends of offshore workers and any other person who, in principle, believes that the safety of offshore workers should take prescience over operator profits, to sign our petition.
